Using
GROUP ADD
Select: UTILITIES>GROUP ADD
Group Add provides a convenient, time-saving
method for entering a series of stamps. Used wisely, it can considerably
reduce the task of maintaining your computerized inventory.
For example, you might possess a nearly complete
collection of plate number coils from 1981 to the present. More than
likely, these stamps are of the same type (i.e. Strip of 5). If this
describes your collection, use the Group Add feature to enter
these stamps quickly as a set, rather than singly.
After selecting Group Add from the
Utilities menu, a dialog box appears.
Click Yes to proceed with group
entry. Enter a range of catalog numbers to be recorded. You are
then prompted to provide information for all of the fields that
normally appear in the Add mode, except for Total Cost and
Total Value. All plate numbers for each catalog number will
be recorded as separate entries.
The information entered in Group Add
will appear on the record of every stamp in the selected group.
The Total Value is computed for each stamp. Total Cost can be recorded
one of three ways: as Zero, as Face Value, or equal to the current
market value.
You may use the Group Add option as
many times as you wish. Group Add can be used to designate as few
as two stamps or an entire series of stamps.
After completing your entries, click Save
to create all of the records in that series.
Editing Group Entries
After creating these group records, you can
edit any one or a number of the individual records within the group.
Use the Edit Records function, or the Change and
Delete functions of the Collection Entry window to remove any
entries in the group that you do not own, or to modify the quantity
or cost figures for any specific stamps in the group.
NOTE: For
more information and tactics you can use with the GROUP ADD
feature, see the Group
