Using
GROUP ADD
Select: UTILITIES>GROUP ADD
Group Add provides a convenient, time-saving
method for entering a series of stamps. Used wisely, it can considerably
reduce the task of maintaining your computerized inventory.
For example, you might own a nearly complete
collection of stamps from 1940 to the present. If these stamps are
of the same condition, use the Group Add feature to enter
these stamps quickly as a set, rather than singly.
Group Add lets you automatically enter a large
number of stamps at once
After selecting Group Add from the
Utilities menu, click Yes. Enter a range of catalog
numbers to be recorded. You are then prompted to provide information
for all of the fields that normally appear in the Add mode,
except for Total Cost and Total Value.
The information entered in Group Add will
appear on the record of every stamp
in the selected group. The Total Value field is calculated
for each stamp based on its condition. Total Cost can be
recorded one of three ways: as Zero, as Face Value, or equal to
the current market value.
You may use the Group Add option as
many times as you wish. Group Add can be used to designate
as few as two stamps or an entire sequence of all catalog numbers.
After completing your entries, click Save
to create all of the records in that series.
Editing Group Entries
After creating these group records, you can
edit any one or a number of the individual records within the group.
Use the Edit Records function, or the Change and Delete
functions of the Collection Entry window to remove any entries in
the group that you do not own, or to modify the quantity or cost
figures for any specific stamps in the group.
NOTE: For
more information and tactics you can use with the GROUP ADD
feature, see the Group
