Error Message: "File is in use"
Keywords: Coin Keeper, error, file,
Stamp Keeper, Windows
The error message, "File is in
use" occurs when the user has opened two or more versions of
the same program. This can only occur in Windows as the Macintosh
does not permit that. The solution is to click "OK" which
will clear the screen and end the program. If another copy of the
program has been opened, it will be indicated in the Task bar at the
bottom of the screen. That version may be opened and work may continue.

Is it important to make "Backups"?
Keywords: Backup, Coin Keeper, Plate
Number Coils, Stamp Keeper, Stamp World, Windows
The three most important things that
computer users must do is:
1. Make backups
2. Make backups
3. Make backups
...... and not just one backup but three. Then rotate their usage.
Backup disk #1 today, backup disk #2 tomorrow, backup disk #3 after
that and then back to #1 again. In this way, you always are assured
that if a backup disk goes bad (and they do) that you will have at
least two other copies.
You should also make a fourth backup and keep it off-site. Should
theft or fire destroy your three backups you will be glad if there
is a fourth one at a friends home or at the office that you can use
to restore your collection records.
To make a backup, select UTILITIES\BACKUP TO DISK from the Menu bar
at the top of the screen and place a 3 1/2" diskette in your
A drive and follow the instructions.
Should the need arise, the selection UTILITIES\RESTORE FROM DISK will
read the diskette and bring all of your collection information back
into the program.

Why can't I print out to my printer from my Macintosh?
Keywords: Coins, Epson, Freezes, Hewlett-Packard,
Macintosh, Printer, Stamps
PROBLEM:
There is a problem in printing to many models of EPSON inkjet printers
and some Hewlett-Packard (HP) inkjet printers from our programs on
the Macintosh. Program freezes or error message appears.
SOLUTION:
In general, printing is not a problem under OS 8.x but shows up in
OS 9.x. There is no solution at present for this.
The user may try one or more of the following:
1. Go to the Internet address for EPSON (http://www.epson.com) and
download the latest printer driver for their machine.
2. Select "Print to File" and then open the file from within
any word processing program they have on the Mac.

Why does the program seem to overflow my Windows
screen?
Keywords: Apply, Coins, Overflow,
Screen, Settings, Stamps, Windows
PROBLEM:
The data entry window appears to overflow the screen on the sides
and/or top and bottom in a Windows machine.
SOLUTION:
The problem is most likely caused by a wrong setting of the screen
size. We see this most often on Windows machines. To correct the
problem:
1. Right click on the desktop wherever there IS
NOT
any icons or other information.
2. Left click on Properties
3. Left click on Settings.
4. Move the slider beneath the words, "640 x 480" and
change it to read, "800 x 600". Any resolution of 800
x 600 or higher can be used.
5. Click APPLY
6. Click OK
Restart the program. All sides of the entry window are now visible,
and the ACTION buttons across the bottom of the window are in view.
